October to some may be about pumpkin carving, Halloween and Trick or Treating. However to me in October its Mean Girls Month - and its October 3rd everyday!
Mean Girls is THAT film - nothing short of iconic. Jammed packed of drama, nostalgia and fashion. So, this momentous month, I am taking a trip down memory lane and dipping into the beauty bags of Cady, Gretchen, Karen and, Queen Bee herself, Regina to give you the low down on the must-have beauty finds you need to channel your inner ‘Plastics’! One of the most affordable foundations to achieve a flawless complexion, it’s lightweight, creamy and buildable and perfect for taking your look from day to night. Trust me when I say it’ll last! I love how I can wear a thin layer in the day too, with a touch of concealer and liquid blush (any product sits well on top of this foundation!) )or build it up for fuller coverage for a night out - maybe even a Halloween party dressed as a corpse bride or a mouse! For £8.99, this foundation is a beauty bargain – it’s moisturising and gives you a smooth, radiant base. It also minimises the appearance of pores, dark circles and blemishes. This is my favourite liquid foundation and has been for years.
Glossies, Karen set the trend in the 00's by rocking a cute and perfect blush! Karen would of LIVED for the PIXI On-The-Glow Blush. These glow-inducing blush sticks are long-lasting and wonderfully lightweight. After one swipe, your complexion is lifted, brightened and even better, hydrated! The shade Fleur is a gorgeous light candy pink - perfect to rock the Karen Smith look. The two things I always want from a cream blush is that it's buildable and blendable and this is exactly what you get from PIXI. You can also use this product as a soft lip tint too. (I know Karen would love a multi use product.) The blush is housed in a stick-like applicator, which gives you controlled and precise application every single time.
Gretchen - the daughter or the inventor of toaster strudel - WOULD be happy to hear about this! The Maybelline Lifter Gloss Plumping Hydrating Lip Gloss – it’s such an iconic lippie and for under £10, it’s so "grool" This plumping gloss, infused with our skincare fave hyaluronic acid, hydrates lips as well as leaves you with a fuller, shinier pout! Your lips will no longer be chapped and dry thanks to the increase of essential water in its formula. I love the XL wand; it makes it easier to contour lips and evenly apply the lippie. And Gretchen’s fave shade for sure would be - Amber a perfect, peachy glossy colour.
