Use Talcum Powder To Keep Moisture At Bay
Starting with my personal favourite, which you probably didn’t expect… Talcum powder effectively absorbs excess moisture, making it an incredibly versatile makeup product. I am a huge fan of the Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder, however, baby powder works just as great at a fraction of the price. It acts like any other translucent powder and may be used as a base for your makeup or as a normal setting powder if you tend to get quite oily. You can also use it for baking (your face) if that’s your thing.
Find A Fab Setting Spray
The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Sprayis well known for its almost unbelievable reviews and it most definitely lives up to them! This setting spray actually keeps your makeup in place from one application to the next. All Nighter is developed with temperature control technology, making it ideal for the odd UK heatwave since it prevents smearing and fading of your makeup.
The obvious use is to set your makeup in place when you're finished, but you can take it to the next level by spraying some of it onto your makeup sponge and lightly pressing it onto your skin after applying foundation and all of your powder products, as I mentioned in This Month We’re Loving… Revolution! blog.
One of the first times this year I’ve decided to glam up, I also had the busiest day of running errands. These involved wearing a mask and a zero time for touch ups. I’ve tried a trick I saw on TikTok a while ago and oh my god, my makeup has never looked better! Even with the mask rubbing against my skin. I believe it has a lot to do with the setting spray I splurged on, but this technique has become a staple in my routine.
Aside from setting your makeup, this spray also works well with shimmer or foil eyeshadows. Simply spray some onto your brush and apply the shadow; the colour payoff is unrivalled.
Try Magnetic Lashes Instead Of Glued-On Falsies
I get lash extensions so normally don’t have to fuss with applying falsies. But, thanks to lockdown, I had to go without for quite some time. So, I had to look for ways to apply false lashes without the whole glue struggle. I came across the Ardell Magnetic Liquid Liner & Lash and decided to give it a go. After all, I had nothing to lose. And I am so glad I did! All you have to do is draw a wing as you would with a regular liquid liner and stick the lashes to it. I swear, applying lashes has never been easier and you will never see me using glue again. Plus, they stay put all day - there’s no glue for the lash to peel off from!

I love a nice pouty lip as much as the next person, but I’ve pretty much avoided any lipstick for the past year or so because of the need to wear a mask.
