Italian-born Marianna Liberio is the latest beauty expert to join The GLOSSY Circle. A big fan of the ‘glamorous yet natural’ look, she wears makeup every day because it makes her feel good. I caught up with her to talk about all things makeup and beauty tips.
A Q&A With Marianna Liberio
Q: Your Makeup Always Looks On Point! When Did You Start Perfecting Your Look?
A: I started experimenting with makeup in year 9. My mum wouldn’t let me wear makeup, so the only thing I could get away with was mascara. I made it my mission to find the best mascara out there. The first one I ever bought was probably Bourjois’ Volume Eye Catching.
Now though, I’m obsessed with the Eyeko Black Magic mascara. The fiber wand is a good mid-range brush (not too fat or too thin) and leaves no clumps. L’Oréal’s Paradise is another favourite if you want something a little less pricey.
Q: You’ve Clearly Expanded Your Makeup Since Then?
A: Definitely! I have three go-to products: mascara, eyeliner and bronzer, but my collection goes way beyond just those.
My favourite product has to be HD Brows Multi-Purpose Palette. It’s so versatile and can be used to create a full face!
As a big believer in multi-purpose products, I swear by HD Brows’ Multi-Use Powder Palette. It features six soft and blendable powders that work all over.
Q: I’m Guessing That It’s Your Daily Go-To, Then?
A: It gets a lot of use, that’s for sure. As part of my daily makeup routine, I use La Mer’s foundation as my base (it’s a little pricey, but definitely worth the splurge), then NARS’ concealer under my eyes. After that, it’s all about the HD Brows palette.
I use a light shade as a base for my eye look, then add a dark hue in my crease. Next, I’ll apply one of the powders as a bronzer to look tanned and finish with a shimmery one for a touch of highlighter. Finally, I apply a flick of eyeliner and a few coats of mascara. That’s me done in 15 minutes or less.
Q: Do You Go All Out For A Night Out Then?
A: To be honest, I’m a big fan of the ‘glamorous yet natural’ look. Even if I’m going out, I’ll start with more or less the same look as my daily one, but with darker eyeshadow that extends under my eyes too.
I like a glamorous yet natural look. Makeup is just a way of making me feel more confident and more like myself.
I might add a nude lipstick too (MAC’s Yash, Kinda Sexy and Honey Love are all great choices). If I’m feeling a little extra, I’ll apply Eyelure’s Enchanted False Lashes.
Q: Do You Have A Favourite Makeup Product?
A: If I had to recommend a product, I’d have to say Maybelline’s Liquid Liner. This felt tip pen allows you to create a gorgeous and precise cat eye effortlessly. When you get the hang of it, it’s so easy to do and this formula stays put all day. You can check out my video on YouTube for a little guidance.
My favourite brand, though, is Charlotte Tilbury. Her Iconic Nude Lip Liner is so creamy, while her Instant Look In A Palette is such a great investment. Eyes, face and cheeks are all covered in one.
