Hi Glossies, it's Kit here (you might remember me from the Facebook Live earlier this week)! Today we’re celebrating Holi, an Indian festival of colours. In honour of this day, the Glossy team has put together some colourful eye looks. Check out our easy tutorials below!
What Is Holi?
Holi marks the start of spring. It is a festival originating from India and celebrated by many people across the world. It's the perfect opportunity to inject some colour into your life! That's why Meg, Lois, Amy and I have put together these colourful eye looks for you all.To create these looks, we have used the below palettes by Morphe and Illamasqua available on LookFantastic. Remember you can buy them with your GLOSSYCredits:Three Celebratory Looks
1. Cheeky Pop
Using just two eyeshadow hues, Meg shows us that you don’t have to use lots of different colours to create a fun, day-to-night look in just two steps.Step 1: Blend orange eyeshadow along the bottom waterline.Step 2: Add a touch of bright pink in the inner corners of your eyes.Doesn’t she look great?!2. Fiery Reds
Amy is wearing a warm toned golden and red eyeshadow look. Did you know that red is a symbolic colour in India used in traditional temple rituals?Step 1: Sweep yellow eyeshadow through the crease with a fluffy brush.Step 2: Intensify the crease colour by adding an orange hue towards the outer edge.Step 3: Blend a metallic red onto your lid using your finger. This gives the best colour payoff!Step 4: Blend a red shade onto the lower waterline to add some extra oomph.Amy completes her look by adding mascara, eyeliner and some lovely highlighter onto her cheeks to really finish this evening look! She recommends the L'Oréal Paris Paradise Mascara and Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner.3. Wild Rainbow
Embrace the rainbow and challenge yourself with this colourful look Lois has created.Step 1: Blend a gorgeous green hue into the first half of the lower lashline
Step 2:Extend along the lower lashline outwards with a blue shade.
Step 3:Sweep a bright pink all over the lid.
Step 4:Pop a yellow shade into the inner corner to balance the look.
Step 5:Add even more definition by blending a dark purple shade into the outer corner.
Lois opted for a bare face with no eyeliner or mascara. She’s keeping it natural to create an edgy look and draw attention to her gorgeous eyes.We would love for you Glossies to try out these looks! Please do send us in your pictures on our social channels, using the hashtag #GLOSSYBOXUK
