From Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s breath-taking performance of the song Shallow, to Olivia Colman’s emotional speech after she won best actress, the Oscars 2019 were full of drama. The red carpet in particular was flooded with gorgeous dresses, amazing makeup looks and exquisite hairstyles.

With that in mind, here are the five beauty tips to take away from the Oscars 2019.

1. When It Comes To Makeup, Lashes Are Key

From bold lips to fiery smokey eyes (I’m thinking of JLo’s amazing eyelook and Constance Wu’s stunning red pout), this season’s hottest makeup trends were on show at the Oscars.

Top of my list though, was Regina King’s gorgeous makeup. Flaunting long and fluffy lashes, she looked elegant and on-trend.

You probably already know that longer and more voluminous lashes are in high demand these days, with lash extensions, false lashes and lengthening mascara flying off the shelves.  To recreate Regina's flawless look, try using benefits' BADgal Bang MascaraMorphe's Melrose Avenue False Lashes or Embryolisse's Lashes Booster Serum.

2. It’s Time To Mix Up Your Hairstyle

From Emilia Clarke’s classy bob to Amanda Stemberg’s gorgeous braids, and Hannah Beachler’s natural hair to Octavia Spencer’s Hollywood blowout, everyone brought their A-Game.

The Oscar for best hair definitely goes to Charlize Theron though. The usually-blond actress chose Sunday night’s Oscars award ceremony to flaunt her new chocolate locks and silky smooth, middle-parted bob. Thinking of mixing it up and getting a new hairdo? Let Charlize inspire you!

3. Pink Is Back

Looking to update your wardrobe this spring? If there’s a must-have colour you should be looking to buy, it’s pink! From Gemma Chan’s eye-catching fuchsia gown, to Kacey Musgraves plush rose dress, every shade of pink hit the red carpet. Even Helen Mirren and Maya Rudolph flaunted this season’s it colour.

4. Hair Accessories Are In

If you don’t want to risk getting a whole new cut but still want to give your hairstyle a boost, then accessories are the way to go. Rachel Weisz flaunted a stunning silver wreath-like headband. Very classy!

5. Fashion Is Gender Fluid

Singer and actor Billy Porter opted for a tuxedo dress, featuring a bowtie, ruffle-cuff white shirt, tuxedo jacket and a black velvet gown to protest gender barriers and denounce abuse towards transgender people. Jennifer Hudson also wore a suit and gown combo to fight stereotypes about gender.

So Glossies, whether you want to flaunt a sexy dress, or sport a power suit and tie, feel free. Fashion is all about self-expression.
