Merry Christmas Glossies! The long wait is finally over and I can now reveal your final GLOSSYBOX ‘Advent Calendar’ treat. Drumroll please… It's a HUDA Highlighter palette!
The Big Reveal
Nestled behind the only unopened door left in your Advent Calendar is a fabulous full-size HUDA Beauty Winter Solstice Highlighter Palette! Combining a creamy pearlescent base with three stunning icy pressed pearl powders, this duo-chrome highlighter palette is about to become your new go-to.
A Highlighter Palette With Pastel Icy Hues
When you open your highlighter palette, you may be surprised to see the rose, gold and blueish-purple sheens of the iridescent highlighter powders. Don’t worry though! Icy pigments may not be your typical highlighter hues but they work so well together. I mean, all three highlighting powders were hand designed by Huda Kattan herself, so how could they not?
These icy pastel hues create a crisp glow for a really dramatic look.
How To Use Your Highlighter Palette: Mix-And-Match For A Wintry Glow
Frosted Kiss, the luscious cream in the top left corner of the highlighter palette, can be applied alone or as a highlighter primer to amplify the light-reflecting pearls of the powders.
You can then layer the other three powders on top of this highlighter cream and customise your own unique look. Blend all three shades together for a subtle radiance, or apply a single hue for an intense luminous glow.
GLOSSY Team Favourites
Personally, I’ve got a soft spot for Winter Rose. It’s a pink-to-coral shade with warm coppery undertones that I’ve been using as a highlighter and blusher in one.
Winter Rose works really well on my olive skin and gives my complexion a dreamy pink shine
While the golden bronze of Northern Lights gives every skin tone an extra boost of radiance, I also love the cool blue undertones of Arctic Glow. It’s a fabulous shimmery shade that best illuminates darker skin.
Insider Tip: You can also add Frosted Kiss on top of the powders to increase the highlighter intensity, or use it on its own. GLOSSY Editor Lydia is a fan!
Frosted Kiss is lovely on its own too. The creaminess gives my skin a dewy and natural glow!
How To Intensify Your Colour
You can apply your powdered highlighter using your Luxie highlighter brush if you want to blend the shades together, but our in-house makeup artist Lucinka prefers to dab it on using her fingers. It really makes the colour pop!
If you’ve been keeping up with our blog, you’ll already know all the best places to apply highlighter. Think cheekbones, brow arch, décolleté and shoulders.
Huda Kattan’s Personal Touch
For those of you who were already Glossy subscribers in November, you’ll already have been introduced to HUDA Beauty and the brand’s fabulous nude Matte Lipstick collection.
We just can’t get enough of Huda Kattan’s makeup range! A sensational beauty blogger and makeup artist turned business woman, she develops all her formulas herself with care and precision.
@Huda KattanI wanted to create something that would give an ethereal glow for the winter […] I spent a lot of time in the lab perfecting the formula, and the final result is an all-in-one palette that gives the most gorgeous, subtle wintry glow.
