As always, it was really exciting to hear from all of you, so I’ve gone back through the comments and answered your questions below!
This Works - In Transit Camera Close Up
Nothing gives you confidence like good skin. This cruelty-free all-in-one primer, moisturiser and mask erases the signs of fatigue, boosts hydration and preps your skin for photo perfect make-up.
@Karen WeedonI’m still not sure about primers – what if I’m not wearing foundation?
Karen wanted to know if using a primer was necessary if you don’t wear foundation. A primer can be applied to eyelids to keep your eye makeup on, or to lips to help your lip colour last longer.
Don’t forget too that the This Works primer doubles as a moisturiser. You can massage it into your face and it will instantly give you a glowing complexion, whether you then wear foundation or not.
Luna By Luna Cosmetics - Translucent Powder
Use this cruelty-free and lightweight setting powder to make your makeup last all day. It smooths fine lines, hides pores and soaks up excess oil to give you a soft makeup-ready complexion.
@Elizabeth ThomsonI struggle with powders, they always look cakey, any tips?
A few of you commented that you had never used setting powders before and weren’t sure how to go about it. The Luna by Luna Translucent Powder should be used over well-blended concealer and/or foundation. Use a large brush to apply a small dusting of the powder to your face, focusing on the areas you’ve concealed. It will help your makeup stay fresh and give your look a professional finish.
Illamasqua - Antimatter Lipstick
This semi-matte Illamasqua lipstick glides on effortlessly and comes in two fabulous shades for a beautiful and bold lip colour.
@Amanda RutterI got ‘treat’ but really wish the lipstick was in a more wearable shade’
We were so pleased to hear how much you all loved the Energy shade. Amanda was concerned about the wearability of the Nebula one though. While this shade is made to compliment every skin tone, we understand that everyone has their opinion about what suits them best.
Don’t be too quick to dismiss the product though – it can double as an eyeshadow and a cream blusher. Simply apply it to the back of your hand, then use a thin eyeshadow brush to apply it to your crease, or a thick highlighter brush to rosy-up your cheeks.
See our Illamasqua lipstick tutorialfor more ideas.
Sleek Makeup -Eyeshadow Palette
Whether you received the Oh So Special or the i-Divine Au Natural palettes, you’ve now got all your autumnal essentials shades covered.
@Shirley GilesLove your eyeshadow! Which one are you wearing please?
Lots of you said how much you loved Sarah and Amy’s Halloween-themed makeup. While Amy used her lipstick as an eyeshadow (see above for details), Sarah used the i-Divine palette to create her look. She used cappuccino as a base, then applied regal across the lid and blended noir into the crease for a smoky effect. She finished off the look using conker in the centre of her lid for a little shimmer and glam.
MUA Makeup Academy
This vegan-friendly and cruelty-free 2-in-1 compact includes a cream and a powder highlighter. You’ll either have received the Pearl Gold or the Pink Luster one (or you may have received the MUA Luxe Set & Reflect Finishing Kit). You can check out our MUA highlighter video here.
@Hannah OakesWhich products do you recommend for tired mum skin?!
This season is all about luminescent radiance and giving your tired-looking skin its youthful glow back. If you’re looking to rejuvenate your complexion, I’d recommend using a moisturiser morning and night. The This Works - In Transit Camera Close Up from the October box will help erase any signs of fatigue. I’d then suggest using the MUA Strobe & Glow Highlight Kit. Apply the highlighter to your cheekbones, cupid’s bow and the bridge of your nose. It will naturally catch the light and give you a vivacious look.
