As many of you will have seen, this month we launched a special design 'Pride' box. So many of our Glossies are LOVING this month’s design so we got nail whizz Amy from the Glossy Team to create a design inspired by this very special box. Amy used nail varnishes from the RIMMEL London 60 Second Super Shine Range to create a cool Pride flag nail look with a twist.
Step 1 - Base Coat
A base coat is so vital for keeping all your hard work in place and chip free. Amy's favourite base is OPI Nail Envy Dry & Brittle as it's a nail strengthener that can double as a base and top coat too.
Step 2 - White base
Apply two coats of a white nail varnish like the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in the colour Cotton. This will really help your rainbow colours to pop!
Step 3 - Pride flag time
Put a drop of each colour onto a piece of paper and use a fine nail art brush draw 2 to 3 lines of each colour onto your nails starting from different points. This will help to create an ombré rainbow effect. Don't worry about being too neat either as this adds to the cool effect. Paint one colour at a time and wait for each to dry to avoid the colours mixing while wet.
Colours from the RIMMEL London 60 Second Super Shine Range:- Chin Up Buttercup (Yellow)
- Tangerine Tent (Orange)
- Wedge Of Lime (Green)
- Lovey Dovey (Indigo)
- Danny Boy (Blue)
- Double Decker (Red)
The Finished Result
After applying the colours of the rainbow, you'll want to apply a top coat for long-lasting shine. Amy used the OPI Nail Envy Dry & Brittle.
