The spring/summer 2016 shows were awash with beautiful hairstyles, with some of our favourite looks having a key focus on braids and twists. Not only do they look really cool while still being sleek enough for work, they're the perfect way to pull your locks out of your face in the heat of summer.
Aveda's Global Artistic Director Allen Ruiz created beautifully crafted twists that were classic, sophisticated and chic, but utterly minimalistic - or as he described it so well himself: 'a beautiful yet resilient hairstyle.'
So we stepped back into the beauty booth and trialled the look on ourselves.
Here's how to do it...1. Pull your hair back into a ponytail and secure with an hair tie. Take a small section of hair from under the ponytail and wrap it around the base to hide the hair tie, then secure with a bobby pin. 2. Divide the ponytail into two even sections and twist them clockwise. Once both sections are twisted to the end, twist both sections together anti-clockwise. Then secure with a hair tie at the end. 3. Finish with a spritz of Aveda Hair Control Hair Spray, £20, to keep it in place!
