With the amount of weird and wonderful beauty products on the market, it’s no surprise the competition is getting hotter and as consumers, we expect more and more from our beloved beauty brands. So, to keep up with our varying demands, brands are launching hybrids like there’s no tomorrow - products with multi functions, multiple benefits and fusion formulas.

Here are the hybrids we’re rating highly at the moment...

Oil + creamAn innovative hybrid oil cream from Darphin that indulges the skin as it soothes the senses. Infused with the iconic 8 Flower Nectar, a rare blend of aromatic essences from 280 petals, it offers a crescendo transformation from a rich cream to opulent oil. Skin is enveloped in comforting moisture and looks nothing short of radiant. Darphin 8-Flower Nectar Oil Cream, £65

Hand hero It’s no secret you can have all the filler on the planet pumped into your face but if your hands are covered in liver spots and lines, you’re not fooling anyone. Thankfully, Filorga have developed the ultimate hand cream that nourishes the skin as much as it does combat signs of aging. It smells dreamy too. Filorga Hand Absolute, £20

Baked blush Reigning from New York, this innovative hybrid blush applies like a powder but feels like a cream and looks more than good enough to eat – think peaches and cream sorbet.  Apply a touch of colour for a translucent flush or a heavier application for a vibrant bold finish. Laura Geller Beauty Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush, £21

Serum + gel + base Long known as one of the more affordable high street brands that deliver impressive results, this Bourjois gel/serum foundation is no exception. Made with a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula with litchi, goji berries and pomegranates, this gel texture blends effortlessly onto the skin for a radiant complexion that lasts up to 16 hours. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation, £10.99

Hair saviour Enriched with six nourishing flower oils, the light texture instantly absorbs into the hair fibre to provide intense nourishment and hydration without leaving a greasy residue like many oil treatments do. Oh, and it can be used on wet or dry hair and even as a primer before blow drying. L'Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil in Cream, £6.99

Oil in cream Is it an oil, is it a cream? The answer: it’s both. A beautiful crossbreed powered by Esteé Lauder's exclusive Photo-Activated Lift Complex, it leaves skin looking more radiant, firmer, smoother and tighter. This hybrid is available for normal/combination and dry skin and if used with the Resilience Lift Night Firming/Sculpting Crème, you'll have a complete 24 hour skin system. Estee Lauder Resilience Lift, £65

Lip + cheek Introducing a double play of colour for lips and cheeks. This beautiful matte blush and lip colour hybrid has a whipped powdery formula that glides on like velvet and can be built up for a more vibrant shade. The patented ‘hidden pearl’ applicator is customised to allow the optimal amount of formula to be dotted onto the cheeks. We’re in love. YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush, £28.50

Powder + balm Introducing the world's first powder primer balm for your hair. This texturising balm creates the perfect base layer for any style, adding grip to your hair and ensuring your bouncy blow-dry actually stays put  - even after you’ve spent the night busting moves on the dance floor. Thumbs up from us. TIGI Bed Head Joyride Texturizing Powder Balm, £16.95

Shadow liner When it comes to hybrids, this is a double whammy. Not only is it an eyeliner and an eyeshadow, but the formula also fuses the powdery texture of a shadow, with the liquid texture of a liner. As if that wasn’t good enough, the colours are ah-mazing. We’ll have one in each shade please. Dior Addict Fluid Shadow, £22.50
