This season we are welcoming in some of the most exciting hair trends we've come across in a while. You see, they combine the perfect trio of requirements: they're easily achievable, utterly beautiful and suit just about anyone and everyone. So it's not surprising our hair will be sporting every single one of them at some point this winter.
The autumn/winter shows provided style upon style that made our eyes widen and our ears prick, listening in for any tips and tricks we could take on board to achieve the look on ourselves. Here are five of our favourite looks for the coming season...
Deep side partingsA deep side parting can truly suit any style - so if you're after a quick update, this is the change up for you. You see, deep side partings - split either way - absolutely dominated the shows, championed by the likes of hair pros Orlando Pita and Sam McKnight. Models at Dries Van Noten and Sonia Rykiel were given slightly messy, natural looking locks, while the Rochas and Balmain girls sported an ultra-sleek, elegant finish.
Loose wavesBeach hair may well usually be associated with the summer, but this year we're carrying tousled locks through to autumn and winter too. By this we mean adding plenty of texture to slightly messy, lightly curled locks. L’Oreal Professionel Techni Art Beach Waves adds the perfect finish - simply apply then lightly scrunch your hair.Twisted bunsYou know that feeling when you wake up late and have 5 minutes to get ready for work? This is the perfect solution. Backstage at Isabel Marant, models were given textured, laid-back buns that were both beautiful and fast to create - while neatly coiled, sophisticated chignons reigned at the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, secured with a few bobby pins at the nape of the neck.
Undone HairNo need to worry about the messy effect wind, rain and general winter weather has on your locks because 'outdoorsy' hair is the way to go next season - and 'undone' was the word on many a hair gurus lips. At Misha Nonoo, it was all about celebrating personal style and the hair's natural beauty, by encouraging models to create their own textured, low ponytails. Now that's something we can get behind. Heralding a total mix of sophistication and effortlessness, the autumn/winter 2015 Topshop Unique girl sported weathered and wild locks by using the power of multiple hairdryers to create a ‘thatch of thick tresses’. The key lesson to learn here? It's time to embrace your organic, natural hair - windswept and all.
Accessories, accessories, accessories... That's right, if you do one thing next season, make sure it's accessorising your hairstyle. From the beautifully wrapped ponytails that led the way at Carolina Herrera and the floral hair combs at Gucci to those leather headbands sported by the Derek Lam girl, there really is something for everyone. Oh, and how could we forget the £1 hair clip EVERYONE was talking about at JW Anderson, where Hair Stylist Anthony Turner scraped the hair back, twirling it and securing in place with a old school plastic hair comb- in 5 minutes flat, may we add.
