Anne-Marie Lodge, the beauty blogger behind Really Ree, talks us through the hero products that she selectively chooses to take on her travels...
"I am completely high maintenance when it comes to beauty. If I can add in another step, I will, and if I have to blend one thing with something else, all the better. For me, it's not about speed, it's about the enjoyment of the ritual. More is more!
When I was younger, I was obsessed with the models in magazines and saw their flawless skin and tanned bodies as the ideals of perfection. My sister is 7 years older than me and was very experimental with makeup. Her makeup bag was a complete treasure trove that I used to explore when she wasn't home!
Concealer was the first thing I ever tried and it was everything to me. I have always been obsessed with the idea of flawlessness so first experiments were all around the complexion arena. Charlotte Tilbury's The Retoucher, £25, is great because it conceals and has light reflection power too! I am nearly at the end of my second tube of this.
I remove my eye makeup first before I go in for the full on cleanse and Eyeko Mascara Off Wipes, £18, are so handy for on-the-go, followed by Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel, £20. It turns from a gel to an oil and then with a dash of water it becomes this milky loveliness and the makeup just melts off. My skin can get a little flaky sometimes and needs a little bit of exfoliating action - Goldfaden MD Doctor's Scrub, £65, is truly amazing. I wear SPF every day and I am a big fan of Clinique's Even Better Dark Spot Defense, £26. It is light on the skin, protects against pigmentation, and my makeup applies nicely over it.
I love Chloé and I just adore the mini My Little Chloé bottles, £35. They are just as beautiful as the full sizes but way more convenient. I hate to travel with full size for two reasons - in case they break or if my luggage gets lost and I cry!
I have a whole arsenal of Benefit mini mascaras which are perfect travel. I just finished Roller Lash which is a fave and I currently have Bad Gal Lash in my makeup bag. Nuxe Reve de Miel, £9.50, is one of my favourite lip balms because it is super nourishing but also matte. It makes a great base for lip colour.
I always need a little bit of help to relax at bedtime, and Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Balm, £19, is just perfect for travel.I am a big fan of oils and I always pack one in my carry on, especially if I am travelling long haul. So for a wonderful pick-me-up, Darphin 8 Flower Nectar, £95, is super nourishing and smells amazing.
