Merry Christmas Glossies! Forget the pile of presents under the tree or the delicious cooked dinner that is no doubt waiting for you, it’s time to unbox the last product from your GLOSSYBOX Advent Calendar! Are you ready for this? *Drumroll please* It’s a contour and highlighter palette by tarte cosmetics!
The tarte cosmetics park ave princess™ chisel palette
The holy grail of contouring palettes, the tarte cosmetics’ park ave princess™ chisel palette boasts 6 contouring powders:
- 2 matte bronzing powders to accentuate your best features
- 2 shimmery bronzers to add a natural glow
- 2 matte highlighters to brighten your features and correct uneven skin tone
All 6 shades are formulated using finely-milled Amazonian clay, mineral pigments and vitamin E. The result? 6 weightless powders that boast smooth and silky formulas, allowing you to create a natural, streak-free finish.
Creating A Princess-Worthy Chiselled Look
The great thing about this palette is the variety of shades on offer. It not only suits a wide range of skin tones, but you can adapt it to your own skin tone throughout the year (let’s be honest, a tanned you needs very different shades to a winter you).
For this tutorial, Meg (who has light and cool-toned skin) is wearing the below colours. To recreate the look, simply adapt the shades to your skin tone.
How To Contour
- Use a fluffy, tapered blusher brush to apply one of thematte highlighters (we used the first one (1)) under your cheekbones and along your jawline. Then, gently blend it in. This will enhance the look of your bronzer.
- Use a fluffy, round contour brush to apply your bronzer (we used the 2nd contour shade (3)) from your cheekbones to your temples and along your hairline. If you’re going for a natural look, use circular motions to gently buff it in. If it’s a chiselled effect that you’re after, I’d recommend sweeping the brush across your cheekbones until you achieve your desired look. Make sure that you blend it in well around your hairline though.
How To Set Your Makeup
Most highlighters are infused with glitter and can consequently only be used as a radiance-boosting finishing touch. The beauty of these highlighters is that they have a matte finish and can be applied as setting powders.
- To enhance the look of your eyes, apply one of the highlighters onto your under-eye area using a flat fan brush. It will keep your concealer in place and brighten the whole look.
