With New Year's Eve fast approaching, we're starting to think about how we'll be wearing our makeup to welcome in 2017. So with that in mind, we've turned our attention to makeup palettes - and more importantly, different ways you can use one palette to change up your look, match your outfit and even take you look from day to night.
Here are two ways to use three of the most popular makeup palettes around...
Emma used: Lancome Audacity in London eye palette, £42For look one (left), using an eyeshadow brush, dust 'Queens Lace' all over your lid as a base, then apply 'Woody Bar' to the outer crease. Finally, blend 'Midnight Haze' over the centre of the lid and in the tear ducts. For look two (right), start by applying 'Rich History' all over the lid and then 'Woody bar' to the outer crease. Dust 'Garden Rose' on the centre of the lid and inner corners of your eye, then apply 'Midnight Purple' under the lash line and blended into the outer crease.Coryn used: Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette, £38.50For look one (left), apply 'Faith' to the centre of your eyelid, slightly blending it out to the corner of your eye. Smoke the eye using 'Extra Bitter' and then run the same colour under the waterline too. Apply 'Lockout' to the outer edge to define the smoke, then add 'Blow' to the inner corner of your eye. For look two (right), dust 'Blow' all over your lid as a base, then sweep 'Tempted' over the top. Smoke out from the centre to the outer corner using 'Instinct' and use 'Lethal' to add some extra definition. Finally, use 'Blackjack' to line the upper lashes.
Hannah used: Revlon Eyes, Cheeks + Lips Palette, £13.99Revlon has made things ultra simple, as its Eyes, Cheeks + Lips palette is split into two sections, each featuring the perfect edit of colours to help you create a polished, flawless and on-trend look. Use the left hand side to create a smouldering smokey eye and a flush of colour on your lips and cheeks (left photo above), then the right side will allow you to create a aubergine eye and either a nude or deep red lip, depending on what takes your fancy (right photo above). It also means you can easily take your look from day to night, as the 11 shades range from subtle to bold.
