Blend And Tap: Meet Summer’s Ombre Lip

The easiest way to add depth to your pout? Opt for an ombre lip. First adorned by the likes of Pamela Anderson in the 90s, it's having a (slightly) more subtle revival this season.

The look, which embodies the carefree essence of summer, was spotted at Topshop's spring/summer 2015 show, where make-up pro Hannah Murray layered each of the models lips with multiple hues for an enhanced final effect.

Topshop have tapped into this and launched Lip Ombre, a soft balm and cream-to-powder duo that delivers that sort-after matte, two-tone finish. The trick is to apply a darker colour to the lip line for a soft diffused edge, then blend this into another slightly lighter colour towards the centre of the lip. 'Roughly apply with fingers and press the second paler shade into the middle of lips for a playful finish’ Hannah Murray, Topshop Beauty Consultant explains. There are four different shades to choose from, so you can go as parred-back or bold as you wish!
